PRIVACY

Your privacy, in plain language.

Last updated: August 22, 2026

MOVE is a student wellbeing app. This policy describes the currently released invited alpha and this public website.

What we collect in the app

MOVE may collect account information; optional profile and campus context; the private content you choose to save, including check-ins, journal entries, safety-plan notes, saved resources, and settings; optional movement and device data; optional reflection responses; and limited operational information used to keep the app reliable and secure.

Location, motion/fitness, notifications, calendar, camera, and photo permissions are optional. MOVE does not request background location. Public community posting, chats, club creation, and event creation are not part of the current alpha.

What we collect through this website

If you use the request form, we collect the name, email address, audience type, and message you submit. The form is for early-access and demo requests; we use these details only to respond to that request and keep a record of the conversation.

Please do not include private health information, crisis details, or any other sensitive information in a website message.

How we use and protect information

We use information to provide the features you choose, protect accounts, improve reliability, and respond to website enquiries. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Private account data is protected by authentication and database row-level security. Website form submissions are stored in a private Cloudflare D1 database. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. A journal lock can add a biometric gate on your device; it does not replace your device passcode.

Your choices

You can change reminder settings, deny optional device permissions, and delete your account from Settings. Account deletion requests deletion of data tied to your account and clears MOVE’s local app data and scheduled notifications on that device. You can request deletion of a website form submission by contacting support. Limited records may be retained only where needed by law or to address security abuse.

Important limits

Journal text, safety-plan notes, reflection answers, and route traces can be sensitive. Avoid entering information you would not want stored. MOVE is not monitored in real time and is not for emergencies. If you may be in immediate danger, call local emergency services or a crisis line.

Service providers

MOVE uses Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage; Cloudflare for website hosting and website request storage; Expo for mobile build and update infrastructure; and Apple or Google for app distribution and device permissions.
